Join me for a whirlwind recap of my unforgettable week in Nauders, Austria and Reschen/Italy, a true multi-sport paradise! This trip was a perfect blend of high-octane adventure and serene mountain escapes.
Day 1 kicked off with an intense 130km gravel bike ride from Garmisch to Nauders, conquering the Fernpass and Reschenpass, burning over 5000 calories – a serious leg burner! I arrived ready to recharge for what was next.
Day 2 was a mix of hiking around the stunning Lake Rescia (Lago di Resia) with friends, soaking in incredible views, and then tackling the 15km Reschenseelauf night run around the lake. Talk about diverse recovery!
The rest of the week (Days 3-7) was all about learning to kiteboard at the fantastic Proboarder Kite School on Lake Rescia. From mastering kite control to getting on the board, we made massive progress, even with variable wind conditions. I cycled to the lake each morning, often opting for the convenient Mutzkopflift for the uphill climb back to my hotel, followed by thrilling gravel descents. In the afternoons, I explored the local peaks like Kleinmutzkopf and Grossmutzkopf, and discovered the beautiful Grüner See and Schwarzer See on scenic hikes.
Finally, Day 8 was a long but rewarding 123km cycle from Nauders back to Bozen, enjoying scenic stops and delicious Italian food along the way before heading home.
