Recap of Munich Tech Sauna Hike 2026
From Lenggries to Tegernsee, a perfect mix of mountains and sauna
Munich Tech Sauna Hike 2026 brought together a small group of six for two days of hiking, connection, and well-earned relaxation in the Bavarian Alps.
We met at Munich Hauptbahnhof around 1 PM and took the train to Lenggries, arriving shortly after 2 PM. The train ride gave us a first chance to get to know each other, but the real conversations began once we hit the trail.
The hike to Lenggrieser Hütte took about three hours, with over 600 meters of elevation gain. Despite the summer heat, the forest provided welcome shade, and the steady climb set a good rhythm for the group. We reached the hut around 5 PM, paused briefly for a drink, and then continued to a nearby peak to round off the first day.
Back at the hut, things slowed down. After checking in and navigating the one-shower-for-all situation, we gathered for dinner, played some cards, and eventually transitioned into singing, with Johann on guitar. Outside, heavy rain rolled in, making the atmosphere inside even more cosy and perfectly timed.
We spent the night in a shared sleeping area, Room 2, ten people in total, six from Munich Tech Sauna. The next morning started quietly with coffee, followed by breakfast together. Around 9 AM, we set off again towards Bad Wiessee. The second day covered roughly 14 kilometers, starting with another rewarding climb and peak before transitioning into a long descent via Aueralm.
Arriving in Bad Wiessee, we took the boat across Tegernsee. Some headed straight back home, while most of us continued to Monte Mare Tegernsee for a final highlight, a few hours of sauna. Cooling off in the lake, enjoying well-crafted Aufguss sessions, and unwinding after roughly 21 kilometers of hiking over two days felt like the perfect finish.
Thanks to everyone who joined the Munich Tech Sauna Hike 2026. Planning for 2027 will start soon, and we will build on what made this one special.
